International Symposium on sustainable flood management

Seminar on environmental services and financing for the protection and sustainable use of ecosystems
10-11 October 2005, Geneva, Switzerland

The Seminar will take place on 10-11 October 2005, at the invitation of the Government of Switzerland. It is being prepared by the Swiss Agency for the Environment, Forests and Landscape, the UNECE secretariat of the Water Convention, in close cooperation with the World Conservation Union (IUCN) and the secretariat of the 1971 Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. Cooperation has also been sought with the UNECE Timber Committee, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe (MCPFE).
