International Symposium on sustainable flood management 28 November 2006 in Seoul, Republic of Korea
Korea has experienced severe flooding in July 2006 and the flood claimed over 60 lives within a week. 3rd International Symposium on Integrated Water Resources Management - Reducing The Vulnerability of Societies Against Water Related Risks at the Basin Scale 26-28 September 2006 in Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany
In 2006, the third symposium of the series will be hosted by the Ruhr-University in Bochum, Germany. It will address the very important subject of how to cope with water-related vulnerability of societies. Seminar on environmental services and financing for the protection and sustainable use of ecosystems 10-11 October 2005, Geneva, Switzerland
The Seminar will take place on 10-11 October 2005, at the invitation of the Government of Switzerland. It is being prepared by the Swiss Agency for the Environment, Forests and Landscape, the UNECE secretariat of the Water Convention, in close cooperation with the World Conservation Union (IUCN) and the secretariat of the 1971 Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. Cooperation has also been sought with the UNECE Timber Committee, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe (MCPFE).
